Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar
ABUJA, Nigeria – Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar prepares for a high-level visit to the United States, aiming to spotlight Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and governance challenges.
In a statement on Sunday his media aide Paul Ibe says the visit will involve engagements with policymakers and global institutions to draw attention to escalating violence and economic strain.
Atiku warns that insecurity has spread across regions, eroding public confidence. “The state is losing its grip on protecting lives and property,” the statement notes.
He argues that persistent violence and instability reflect systemic governance failures, urging urgent intervention and international awareness.
The move comes amid growing pressure on authorities to address security concerns and restore stability.
