ABUJA, Nigeria – African leaders, global investors, and policymakers will converge in New York on 21–22 September for the Global Africa Business Initiative’s flagship “Unstoppable Africa” forum.
Hosted by the UN Global Compact and African Union Commission, the summit coincides with the 80th UN General Assembly.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres and AU Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf will preside over the event.
“This is a decisive moment,” said Sanda Ojiambo, UN Assistant Secretary-General. “Africa’s trajectory will define global markets. Africa is unstoppable.”
The forum will highlight investment in renewable energy, infrastructure, digital connectivity, and intra-African trade, with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) expected to boost trade by 45% by 2045.
Confirmed speakers include presidents of Namibia, Botswana, Sierra Leone, and Angola, alongside business leaders from Google, Safaricom, Econet, Equity Group, and DP World. Actor and humanitarian Nomzamo Mbatha will host the gala dinner.
Organisers say the forum, open virtually, is a rallying call to transform global disruption into strategic advantage.
