ABUJA, Nigeria – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says more than 6.2 million Nigerians have completed their online pre-registration for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
In a statement released on Monday, INEC disclosed that between 22 and 28 September 2025, 6,232,673 Nigerians finalised pre-registration. Of this figure, 3,250,338 were women (52.15 percent) and 2,982,335 men (47.85 percent).
“Youths aged 18 to 34 dominated the process with 4.2 million entries, while students recorded over 1.5 million registrations,” INEC said.
The commission also noted that 137,865 persons with disabilities participated in the exercise.
During week five of the CVR (22–26 September), 1,004,132 Nigerians completed both online and physical registrations. Females accounted for 55.28 percent of these, with youths again forming the largest bloc.
INEC reaffirmed its commitment to broadening voter access, saying the CVR is a crucial step toward consolidating Nigeria’s democracy ahead of upcoming elections.
