FG Commissions 50-Bed Health Centre, 36-Classroom School Project in Lagos

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Federal Government has commissioned a 50-bed Primary Healthcare Centre, a Children’s Recreational Centre and two blocks of 36 classrooms in Lagos State as part of efforts to improve access to quality healthcare and education under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The projects, delivered by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs), were inaugurated in Egbeda and Orisumibare Primary School in Alimosho Local Government Area.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, said the projects reflected the Tinubu administration’s commitment to translating the Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible improvements in healthcare, education and social development at the grassroots.
Represented by the Secretary of Programme, Suzanne Iwongo Sado, Orelope-Adefulire said integrated investments in health, education and child development remained essential to achieving sustainable national development.
“A healthy child needs quality healthcare, safe opportunities to play and develop, and a conducive classroom in which to learn,” she said.
She explained that the new healthcare facility would improve access to essential medical services, particularly for women, children, older persons and other vulnerable members of the community.
Orelope-Adefulire also emphasised the importance of maintaining the newly commissioned facilities to ensure they continue delivering quality services for years to come.
“Sustainable infrastructure is not measured only by the day it is commissioned, but by the quality of service it continues to deliver over many years,” she added.
Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, described the projects as strategic investments in the future of the community and pledged the council’s commitment to ensuring their proper maintenance and effective utilisation.
