LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos Food Safety Conference will bring together policymakers, regulators, researchers, industry experts and consumers next week as the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) intensifies efforts to strengthen food safety standards and consumer protection across the state.
LASCOPA has called on stakeholders and members of the public to register for the Fourth Lagos State Food Safety Conference and Exhibition, scheduled for 8 September 2026 at NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja.
In a statement shared on the Lagos State Government’s official X page on Monday, the agency said this year’s conference will focus on practical solutions to emerging food safety challenges under the theme, “From Burden to Solutions – Safe Food Everywhere.”
LASCOPA General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Afolabi Solebo described the annual conference as a strategic platform for promoting collaboration among government agencies, researchers, food businesses and consumers.
“The conference has evolved into an important platform where stakeholders exchange knowledge, showcase innovations and strengthen food safety systems,” Solebo said.
He encouraged policymakers, academics, food safety professionals, market associations, innovators, students and regulators to participate actively in discussions aimed at improving food safety practices across Lagos.
According to the agency, the conference will examine emerging risks in food production, handling, processing and distribution while exploring sustainable solutions that protect consumers and promote public health.
