Professor Wumi Iledare
LAGOS, Nigeria – Professor Wumi Iledare has urged Nigeria’s oil and gas sector to focus on measurable outcomes and economic value rather than leadership debates.
Reacting to Shu’aibu Aliyu’s appointment as Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, Iledare emphasised that training programmes should align with industry needs, foster innovation, and deliver immediate national benefits.
He stressed that human capital development must shift from counting graduates to measuring tangible outcomes such as job creation, innovation, and economic contribution. Iledare also called for accountability, transparent performance tracking, and collaboration with industry stakeholders to enhance the sector’s competitiveness.
