LAGOS, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence in Nigeria’s economic recovery, saying the country has emerged from a difficult period as his administration presses ahead with reforms aimed at delivering prosperity.
Tinubu spoke on Monday while reflecting on his recent visit to Saudi Arabia, where he performed the Umrah pilgrimage. “The foundation is solid, and the economy has come out of the dark tunnel. This is inspiring,” the President said, reaffirming his commitment to Nigeria’s development.
He added that he was determined to strengthen the economy and invest in the future of young Nigerians. “My commitment to Project Nigeria is higher. I am determined to usher in prosperity and fully develop the country,” he said.
The President stressed the need for sustained investment in young people, saying decisions taken by present leaders would shape how future generations judged their stewardship. “We need to build a future for our youth. If we don’t invest in their future, how do we want to be remembered as leaders 50 years from now? That’s the main thing,” he said.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu made the remarks after performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
