German Doctor Faces Trial Over Alleged Abuse of 70 Children

A 46-year-old paediatrician in eastern Germany has gone on trial accused of sexually abusing more than 70 children over a period spanning more than a decade.

The doctor faces more than 130 criminal charges relating to alleged offences committed while working at clinics in the towns of Nauen and Rathenow between 2013 and 2025. He was arrested about a year ago after the mother of a child reported suspected abuse to the authorities.

According to prosecutors, searches of the doctor’s electronic devices uncovered visual evidence of additional alleged offences. The defendant has remained in pre-trial detention since his arrest.

The trial is taking place in Potsdam, near Berlin, and is expected to continue until December. The allegations are before the court, and the defendant’s guilt has not been established. German Doctor Faces Trial Over Alleged Abuse of 70 Children
