ONDO, Nigeria – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Thursday distributes relief materials to flood victims in Ondo State under the Federal Government’s 2025 Special Intervention.
Speaking in Oyin Akoko, NEMA Director-General, Zubaida Umar, urges proactive disaster-response policies at grassroots levels. She is represented by Abogunrin Adesina.
Items distributed include rice, maize and spaghetti to affected communities in Akoko North-East and North-West LGAs. “These items are to support recovery, not replace losses,” Umar says.
Beneficiaries commend the timely intervention following devastating July floods that displaced residents and damaged infrastructure.
