KADUNA, Nigeria – The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen aviation training and human capacity development in Nigeria.
The pact, sealed at the Air Traffic Services Training Centre (ATSTC) in Kaduna, is designed to align Nigeria’s aviation standards with global best practices while boosting civil and military air operations nationwide.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has prioritised capacity building and strategic partnerships. “This agreement underscores our vision for innovation and excellence in aviation,” he noted in a statement issued on Saturday.
Commandant of ATSTC, Air Commodore Nasiru Babatunde Folaji, called the deal “a mutually beneficial collaboration that will open new frontiers in aviation training.” He added that it would cover airline, airport, meteorology, and personnel exchange programmes.
NCAT Rector Capt. Danjuma Adamu Ismaila praised the ATSTC partnership as “timely and strategic,” stressing that it complements, rather than competes with, NCAT’s mandate.
The MoU marks a significant milestone in efforts to sustain excellence in Nigeria’s aviation sector, providing training solutions that meet both civil and military needs.
