LAGOS, Nigeria – The Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has launched a three-day free community health outreach aimed at improving access to preventive medical care for residents across the area.
The programme begins on Tuesday, November 4, and will run until Thursday, November 6, 2025.
According to Executive Chairman, Mrs. Adetola Abubakar, the outreach reflects the council’s commitment to strengthening early detection and promoting long-term wellness among citizens. “Good health is the foundation of a productive community,” she said. “This exercise ensures that every resident, regardless of income, receives essential healthcare services.”
The initiative will open at the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Council Secretariat on Tuesday, continue at the Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre in Akintan Street on Wednesday, and conclude at the Alapere Primary Healthcare Centre in Akinyemi Street on Thursday.
Organisers confirmed that residents will benefit from a wide range of services including free medical check-ups, screenings, and treatment. These cover blood pressure monitoring, weight and BMI assessments, diabetes testing, kidney function evaluation, and tuberculosis screening.
In addition, the outreach will provide “free drug distribution, eye screening and free corrective glasses, immunisation services, family planning support, HIV testing, and treatment for minor ailments.”
Mrs. Abubakar encouraged residents to participate, describing the outreach as “an important step toward preventing avoidable illnesses and reducing long-term healthcare burdens on families.”
The council said it plans to sustain similar programmes to strengthen public health awareness in the community.
