KATSINA, Nigeria – Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda made history as the first Nigerian state leader to participate in Ambition Africa 2025, a high-level investment forum hosted at the French Ministry of Economy and Finance on Saturday.
Governor Radda presented opportunities for renewable energy and clean-energy investment in northern Nigeria, highlighting Katsina’s Integrated Resource Plan prioritising decentralised energy systems, mini-grids, hybrid power solutions, and private-sector collaboration.
“Katsina is ready for responsible investment and remains a trusted partner in Nigeria’s energy transition,” he said.
He showcased ongoing initiatives, including hybridisation of the Lambar Rimi Wind Farm, solar-plus-battery installations at public institutions, expansion of mini-grids, and the Danja Dam mini-hydro project. Plans for a large-scale solar Green Economic Zone to power manufacturing clusters and agro-processing hubs were also unveiled.
Radda emphasised improvements in governance and security, stating: “Our stability has improved in alignment with national efforts under President Tinubu to bolster security and economic resilience.”
The forum drew investors, policymakers, and development agencies from Europe and Africa, offering a platform to deepen bilateral cooperation in clean-energy investment.
