Kano State Commissioner of Education, Ali Bukar Makoda
KANO, NIGERIA – The Kano State Ministry of Education denies reports claiming plans to hire 3,917 teachers under a supposed “Kano State Basic Education Teachers Mapping and Recruitment Plan (2025–2028).”
In a statement on Sunday, Director of Public Enlightenment, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru described the claim as “misleading and baseless,” urging the public to disregard it.
“The ministry wishes to inform the public that no official announcement has been made regarding teacher recruitment,” Kiru said.
The ministry warns residents against sharing or believing unverified information circulating on social media. It advises the public to confirm updates only through official government communication channels.
“This clarification is necessary to prevent confusion and ensure accurate information dissemination among members of the public,” the statement added.
The Kano State Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to transparency in educational reforms and recruitment processes, saying any future announcements will be made publicly and through authorised media outlets.
