ABUJA, Nigeria – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced registration for Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes, following the Federal Government’s decision to exempt applicants from sitting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The Board announced on Thursday that eligible candidates can now register at any Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC) in Colleges of Education or any JAMB Professional Registration Centre (PRC) nationwide using only their required O’Level qualifications.
Under the new admission policy, applicants seeking admission into NCE programmes in Colleges of Education and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes in Polytechnics no longer need to write the annual UTME.
JAMB says it has developed a robust admission framework to ensure that only qualified candidates gain admission while maintaining academic standards across the affected programmes.
According to the Board, prospective candidates only need to present their O’Level credentials at designated registration centres to complete the admission process.
The Board urges eligible candidates to take advantage of the simplified registration process by visiting approved centres across the country without delay.
JAMB also announces that candidates who sat for the 2026 UTME but have decided to pursue NCE or Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes can convert their applications at no additional cost by visiting any IPRC or JAMB PRC.
The policy forms part of the Federal Government’s efforts to expand access to teacher education and agricultural training while preserving the quality and integrity of admissions into the programmes. JAMB Opens NCE Admission Without UTME
