ABUJA, Nigeria – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates offered admission between 2021 and 2026 to accept or reject their admission offers.
The Board announced that affected candidates now have until Wednesday, September 30, 2026, to complete the process.
JAMB had earlier fixed August 31, 2026, as the deadline.
In a statement on Saturday, the Board said the extension provides a final opportunity for candidates with outstanding admission offers, including regular admissions and CUIIA admissions, to decide whether to accept or reject them.
JAMB warned that candidates who fail to take action before the new deadline will automatically lose their admission offers.
“Candidates are advised not to wait until the deadline, as there will be no further extension,” the Board said.
Those who accept their offers will be eligible to print their admission letters and complete the necessary admission procedures.
JAMB explained that candidates who reject outstanding admission offers will have their admission status reverted to “Not Admitted.”
Candidates who are no longer studying in the institution where they were initially offered admission, or who have since enrolled in another programme, may still accept the old offer before applying for the necessary correction or deletion.
The Board also reassured candidates admitted during the 2026 admission exercise that rejecting an earlier admission offer would not affect their newly secured admission.
No further extension
JAMB stressed that September 30 represents the final deadline.
At the expiration of the window, all admission offers from 2021 to 2026 that remain neither accepted nor rejected will automatically revert to “Not Admitted” on the Board’s portal.
The Board urged all affected candidates to complete the process promptly to ensure the accuracy of national admission records.
