Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya
GOMBE, Nigeria – Governor Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya has constituted a high-level Task Force to drive major reforms in Gombe State’s basic education sector, signalling what officials describe as one of the most comprehensive review efforts in years.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Director-General, Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli.
Chaired by the Commissioner for Education, Professor Aishatu Maigari, the Task Force includes leading education experts such as Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, OON, Mr. Mataimaki Tom Maiyashi, and Engr. Dr. Muhammad Nuru Yakubu, The SUBEB Chairman, Professor Esrom Toro Jokthan, will serve as Secretary.
The committee is expected to assess primary and junior secondary schools, identify systemic gaps, and recommend actionable reforms to enhance access, quality, and learning outcomes.
“This Task Force is another milestone in the Governor’s commitment to strengthening teaching and learning environments,” the statement noted.
