KOGI, Nigeria – Ejiba community in Yagba West, Kogi State, enters a state of fear after armed bandits invade a church service and abduct several worshippers, including a pastor and his wife.
The attack occurred on Sunday morning at a new Cherubim and Seraphim Church. Residents say the gunmen strike mid-service, forcing congregants to flee. “Eyewitnesses told Egbe Mekun Platform that the assault happens while worshippers are gathered in church,” a local source states.
Community members confirm that the pastor, his wife, and others are taken into nearby bush paths. The number of victims remains unverified.
The incident intensifies concerns over rising insecurity across Kogi’s rural communities. Residents call for urgent intervention to rescue the victims and halt repeated attacks.
