ABUJA, Nigeria – The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, charges the National Project Steering Committee (NPSC) to urgently deliver reforms capable of transforming Nigeria’s agricultural sector and securing food supply.
Addressing committee members in Abuja, Kyari describes their mandate as pivotal to economic diversification, food security and inclusive growth.
“This is a make-or-break opportunity,” he says, urging effective coordination among governments, development partners and the private sector to tackle low productivity, climate risks and infrastructure gaps.
Kyari assures full federal support, calling for innovation, digital adoption and increased youth and women participation across agricultural value chains.
The directive comes amid rising food prices and global supply disruptions, with analysts welcoming the renewed focus on coordinated project delivery.
