Ikharo Attah and Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa
ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Ministry of Education appoints veteran journalist Ikharo Attah as Special Adviser on Media and Communication to strengthen public engagement and transparency in the education sector.
The appointment on Monday, approved by Minister Maruf Tunji Alausa, positions Attah to lead strategic communication, media relations and digital engagement across the ministry.
Officials say the move aligns with efforts to improve messaging around reforms and ensure consistent public communication. “He will provide leadership in shaping the ministry’s communication agenda,” the statement notes.
Attah brings over two decades of experience in broadcast journalism, having worked with DBN Television and Independent Television, where he rose to senior editorial roles.
He has also served in public sector positions within the FCT, including leading enforcement task forces.
The ministry says his appointment will enhance crisis communication capacity and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
