ABUJA, Nigeria – Motorists along the Abuja–Nyanya–Keffi expressway will experience brief diversions Saturday as the Nigerian Air Force conducts its annual 10km fitness march.
The two-hour event, scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., will require the closure of the service lane stretching between Karu Bridge and Mogadishu Cantonment Bridge while officers and airmen participate in a 10-kilometre Walk/Jog Exercise.
The Force’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, announced the road closure in a Friday statement, describing the annual tradition as a core component of personnel development.
“The exercise underscores the importance of physical fitness to military efficiency and overall mission readiness,” Ejodame said.
The NAF spokesperson emphasised that the fitness programme reflects the service’s dedication to keeping its workforce in peak condition, a requirement the Force considers non-negotiable for effective operations.
