LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos State Ministry of Health has urged directors across its departments to improve performance, address operational challenges and strengthen collaboration to achieve the ministry’s 2027 objectives.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr Dayo Lajide, gave the charge at a one-day Directors’ Workshop held on Monday at Protea Hotel, Ikeja. The workshop reviewed draft 2027 work plans and provided a platform for participants to develop key performance indicators (KPIs), baselines and targets for their respective directorates. Lajide also emphasised succession planning, staff development and mentorship, urging directors to prepare personnel for future leadership responsibilities and develop five-year strategic visions for their departments.
In a presentation, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Dr Olubusola Abidakun, called for stronger institutional collaboration under the theme, “Breaking Down Silos to Build One MoH Team: Teamwork, Synergy and Thriving at Work.”
She identified poor communication, departmental rivalry and weak coordination as major barriers to productivity.
