Governor Babagana Zulum, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede and Prof. Segun Aina commissioning the JAMB Mega CBT Centre in Maiduguri.
MAIDUGURI, Nigeria – Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has commissioned a ₦1 billion JAMB Mega Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre, describing the investment as a major step towards expanding access to tertiary education across Nigeria’s North-East.
The ultra-modern facility, donated by the Borno State Government to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), was inaugurated on Wednesday by the outgoing JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, alongside the incoming Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina.
Named the Is-haq Oloyede JAMB Mega Professional Registration Centre (PRC), the facility occupies a 5,300-square-metre site and is equipped to register candidates and conduct large-scale computer-based examinations.
The centre houses two CBT halls fitted with 275 computers each, enabling it to accommodate 500 candidates per examination session and up to 2,000 candidates daily during examinations. It also features eight offices, three conference rooms, four registration areas, two large waiting halls with a combined capacity of 500 candidates and multiple convenience facilities.
The project, whose foundation was laid by Governor Zulum on 24 February 2026, was completed in less than six months—ahead of schedule.
Speaking during the commissioning, Prof. Oloyede described the project as a landmark investment in education that will ease access to tertiary admission services for candidates across the North-East.
“This facility will significantly ease the challenges faced by candidates across the North-East geopolitical zone seeking admission into tertiary institutions.”
He commends Governor Zulum for making education a priority, noting that JAMB officials were impressed by the state’s investments in smart schools and other education projects.
Incoming JAMB Registrar Prof. Segun Aina also applauds the partnership between the Borno State Government and JAMB, expressing hope that the collaboration will continue to strengthen educational development.
