ABUJA, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu has ordered security agencies to intensify operations in Kaduna State after about 30 people, including women and children, were killed in an attack on Naridon Village in Kauru Local Government Area, vowing that that responsible will be brought to justice.
The President’s directive followed Monday’s attack on Naridon Village, Kamaru Ward, where gunmen reportedly killed dozens of residents and set several houses ablaze.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described the killings as a “barbaric” and “cowardly” act of terror against innocent citizens.
“Those who seek to destabilise the hard-fought peace and security, which Kaduna State has enjoyed in recent times, will not go unpunished,” Tinubu said.
The President extended condolences to the families of the victims, Governor Uba Sani, the Kaduna State Government and residents of the state, assuring them of the Federal Government’s continued support in tackling insecurity.
“Our administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping response personnel, and neutralising criminal networks attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation,” Tinubu said, while urging residents to provide actionable intelligence to security agencies to prevent future attacks.
