KANO, Nigeria – A Flybird private jet crash-lands at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Sunday morning, with all passengers and crew evacuated safely.
The incident occurs around 9:30 a.m. as the aircraft arrives from Abuja, carrying 11 people, including three crew members.
Eyewitnesses at the airport say emergency response is swift and orderly, with no injuries recorded. “Everyone was quickly brought out of the aircraft, and there were no casualties,” an airport source says.
Attempts to obtain official confirmation from airport authorities are unsuccessful, as calls and messages to the airport’s Public Relations Officer, Bilkisu Baffa, go unanswered at the time of filing.
The cause of the crash-landing remains unclear, and aviation authorities are expected to launch a formal investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Airport operations continue normally following the evacuation, according to sources familiar with the situation.
