ONDO, Nigeria – The Ondo State Police Command dismantles a sex trafficking syndicate operating under the pretext of job recruitment and social media content creation.
In a statement on Sunday, the Command spokesperson Olushola Ayanlade confirms on Sunday that three suspects, including ringleader Jayeola Joshua, are arrested while 15 women aged 20 to 26 are rescued from an apartment in Alagbaka, Akure.
Investigators reveal that victims are lured with false promises of employment and then coerced into sexual exploitation. Nude images and videos are circulated to paying clients.
“The operation was disguised as producing relationship content online to mislead the public,” Ayanlade says. Victims are now receiving medical and psychological support.
The Commissioner of Police orders full prosecution, reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy on human trafficking.
