BAUCHI, Nigeria – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps deploy 1,100 personnel across Bauchi State to strengthen security and protect lives during Easter celebrations.
The deployment, covering all 20 local government areas, includes uniformed officers for visible patrols and plainclothes operatives for intelligence gathering.
Spokesperson Saminu Yusuf says the move is part of coordinated efforts to ensure a safe and orderly festive period.
State Commandant Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde approves the operation, directing officers to secure churches, event centres, and other high-risk locations.
“The personnel are drawn from various units to ensure adequate coverage and rapid response capability,” Yusuf states.
Authorities also prioritise the protection of critical national infrastructure throughout the holiday.
The command urges residents to remain vigilant and law-abiding, while encouraging cooperation with security agencies.
Analysts say heightened security deployments during religious festivities are critical in preventing potential threats and maintaining public order.
