YOLA, Nigeria – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Adamawa State seizes nearly 1.4 tonnes of illicit drugs and arrests 150 suspects during intensified operations in December 2025.
State Commander, Aliyu Abubakar disclosed the figures at a press briefing in Yola on Saturday, highlighting the agency’s focus on protecting youths from drug abuse.
The seizures include large quantities of cannabis and pharmaceutical opioids, particularly Tramadol, alongside the confiscation of two vehicles used for drug transportation.
Abubakar says the command secures six convictions, with 53 cases pending in court, while 39 individuals receive counselling and rehabilitation support.
Officers also destroy illegal cannabis farms covering one hectare across Lamurde, Toungo and Mubi-North local government areas, and recover ₦163,170 in assets.
Abubakar credits intelligence-led policing under NDLEA leadership and thanks Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for donating operational vehicles.
