KATSINA, Nigeria – Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda announces plans to recruit 4,000 professionals, including medical personnel and teachers, to strengthen healthcare and education services across the state.
The governor discloses that employment letters will soon be issued to over 1,000 screened medical workers, raising the total number of health personnel engaged under the programme to more than 3,000.
The announcement is contained in a statement released on Thursday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed.
Governor Radda made the disclosure while supervising a verification exercise at Government House, Katsina, aimed at auditing public service staffing levels.
“Our priority is to address manpower shortages and ensure efficient healthcare delivery,” Radda says.

The governor also reveals plans to recruit 2,000 teachers to replace retirees and improve learning outcomes in public schools.
“This exercise fills gaps in our classrooms and guarantees access to quality education for every child,” he adds.
Radda says the recruitment aligns with his administration’s agenda to strengthen public services while expanding employment opportunities for qualified youths.
He urges recruitment committees to uphold transparency and merit, stressing that fairness remains non-negotiable.
The exercise is expected to commence in the coming weeks following the conclusion of the verification process.
