KANO, Nigeria – The Senate of Bayero University Kano expels 171 students for falsifying admission qualifications, reinforcing a strict stance against academic fraud.
The decision follows deliberations at the institution’s 433rd Senate meeting after a তদন্ত by its Committee on Entry Qualification Irregularities uncovers widespread use of forged credentials.
University authorities state the offence violates Section 20.7 of its academic regulations, which prescribes expulsion for such misconduct.
“The affected students cut across multiple departments and levels,” the institution notes, stressing efforts to sanitise academic records.
In a separate case, the Senate expels a Civil Engineering student, Yusuf Muhammad Sani, for allegedly assaulting invigilators during an examination.
Management reiterates its zero-tolerance policy, warning that breaches of academic and disciplinary rules will attract severe sanctions.
