KANO, Nigeria – The Kano State Police Command recovers a stolen Toyota Sienna valued at ₦20 million, reinforcing ongoing efforts to enhance crime prevention and public safety.
The maroon vehicle, registered RBC-801HM, was stolen on January 5, 2026, from the Government Reserved Area in Maiduguri, Borno State. Investigations identify a security watchman attached to the residence as a key suspect.
Police operatives recover the vehicle two days later at Hotoro Arewa Quarters during an intelligence-led patrol by the Hotoro Police Division.
Police spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa attributes the success to proactive intelligence gathering and patrol visibility, aligned with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

“This recovery demonstrates our commitment to protecting lives and property through intelligence-driven operations,” Kiyawa says.
Following verification, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, orders the vehicle’s release to its rightful owner, Mr Ali Alti.
Police confirm the arrest of four suspects, who are currently under investigation and will face prosecution if found culpable.
The command advises residents to conduct background checks when employing domestic staff and security personnel to reduce theft and related crimes.
