
JIGAWA, Nigeria – The Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi has assured National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state of their safety and wellbeing during their service year.
Speaking through Deputy Governor Aminu Gumel at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members in Dutse, Namadi pledged full government support.
“The government is committed to providing you with all necessary support to ensure your stay in Jigawa is safe and comfortable,” Gumel told the 2,000 corps members.
The State NYSC Coordinator, Jidda Dawud, highlighted the importance of discipline and warned members against violating scheme rules. “Discipline, hard work, and commitment to your duties during and after camp will define your service year,” he stated.
The corps members are expected to complete a three-week orientation before deployment to their primary places of assignment, where they will engage in community development, health sensitisation, and education programmes.
The oath of allegiance was administered by Justice Amina Dahiru on behalf of the Chief Judge of Jigawa State. Traditional rulers, senior government officials, and security chiefs also attended the ceremony.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding corps members, highlighting their critical contributions to local development.
