INEC Opens Accreditation Portal for Osun Governorship Election Coverage

ABUJA, Nigeria – INEC has opened its online media accreditation portal for journalists and media organisations seeking to cover the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for 15 August 2026.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Monday that interested media organisations must submit applications through its dedicated accreditation platform ahead of the poll.
In a statement posted on its official social media platform, the electoral body said the accreditation portal, available at imap.inecnigeria.org, opens on 2 June 2026 and closes on 2 August 2026.
INEC stressed that all applications must be completed before the deadline, warning that late submissions will not be accepted.
“No late submission as the portal will automatically shut down at 12 midnight on Sunday, 2nd August 2026. Note: There will be no time extension,” the commission stated.
The commission advised media organisations planning to deploy reporters, photographers and other election personnel to complete the accreditation process within the stipulated period.
INEC also provided enquiry channels for journalists and media organisations requiring clarification on the application process.
