ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) opens new reporting channels for residents to report uncleared refuse as Abuja battles mounting waste challenges.
In a statement Tuesday, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications, Lere Olayinka, announced four telephone numbers for residents to submit complaints via WhatsApp. The phone numbers provided for reporting are 08038643087, 07011073406, 07011255710, and 09114843425.
He urges residents to send clear pictures and videos of uncleared refuse, specifying exact locations to identify responsible contractors.
The initiative aims to strengthen accountability among waste management contractors and ensure timely refuse evacuation across the territory.
The FCTA says it will act swiftly on verified reports and sanction defaulting contractors, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sanitation and public health.
