Power Minister, Adebayo Adelabu
ABUJA, Nigeria – Nigeria’s Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu is urging citizens to sustain the discipline of Ramadan to support ongoing electricity reforms aimed at stabilising power supply.
In an Eid-el-Fitr message on Friday, Adelabu says patience and collective sacrifice are critical as the government works to address longstanding challenges in the power sector.
“Thirty days of fasting have ended, but the sacrifice is only just beginning,” he says.
He acknowledges persistent gas supply shortages affecting electricity generation but insists reforms are beginning to yield gradual improvements.
The minister aligns the progress with the broader agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence that ongoing policies will deliver reliable power.
Adelabu also references recent international engagements as part of efforts to attract investment and strengthen the sector.
“These milestones underscore a new direction for our nation,” he says.
He calls for unity, trust, and sustained public support, stressing that current hardships are part of long-term transformation.
The government maintains that reforms will improve electricity supply to households and industries in the near future.
