CALABAR, Nigeria – Cross River State signs a digital health agreement to modernise healthcare delivery, improve transparency and strengthen data management.
Health Commissioner Henry Ayuk says digitisation will eliminate inefficiencies through real-time tracking of patient care.
“This will ensure accountability from registration to treatment,” he states.
The initiative aligns with the National Health Digital framework and introduces automation across all 18 local government areas.
Permanent Secretary Jonah Offor says collaboration is essential for successful implementation.
“Automation will significantly improve service delivery,” he adds.
Digital Health lead Alphonsus Ibor confirms that 60 healthcare workers have been trained during the pilot phase.
Experts from HealthStart highlight improved continuity of care and workflow efficiency.
Officials also stress strict data protection, with secure infrastructure and controlled access systems.
