ABUJA, Nigeria – A road crash involving a vehicle linked to heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua claims two lives along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, while the boxer reportedly escapes with minor injuries.
The crash occurs on Monday in the Makun area of Ogun State and involves a Lexus SUV, bearing registration number KRD 850 HN, which eyewitnesses say collides with a stationary truck parked along the highway. “The vehicle hit a truck standing by the roadside,” an eyewitness says. “The impact was very strong, and people rushed in to help.”
Another source familiar with the incident confirms that two occupants die instantly, while Joshua sustains minor injuries.
Authorities do not immediately confirm Joshua’s condition, but investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash. Officials say factors such as speed, visibility and improper parking are being examined.
The Lagos–Ibadan Expressway remains one of Nigeria’s busiest and most accident-prone highways, with poor parking practices and heavy traffic frequently cited as major risks.
