ABUJA, Nigeria – The Federal Government launches applications for the second phase of its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme, targeting youth employment across Nigeria.
Education Minister Tunji Alausa says the scheme offers six-month and one-year training with monthly stipends of ₦22,500.
The programme covers sectors including ICT, construction, agriculture, fashion, hospitality and creative media.
“It is a deliberate response to youth unemployment,” Alausa says.
Participants will receive nationally recognised certificates, with attendance monitored through biometric verification.
Applicants must provide a National Identification Number and Bank Verification Number.
The initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, aimed at building a skilled and self-reliant workforce.
Officials say the programme is designed to meet the demands of a fast-evolving labour market.
