ABUJA, Nigeria – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board issues a strict ultimatum to accredited centres, warning that failure to maintain visible surveillance cameras during registration and examinations could lead to sanctions, including non-payment and delisting.
The Board says all 989 centres must ensure their CCTV systems are fully accessible and viewable in real time from its headquarters control room.
Any centre that cannot be monitored live risks having its activities declared invalid.
During the recent registration exercise, more than 150 centres were not visible from the control room, leading to withheld payments.
JAMB says it initially considered cancelling all affected registrations but opted instead for enhanced monitoring and further scrutiny.
Following a review, the Board summons affected centres and orders immediate technical corrections, stressing that payments will only be processed after compliance is verified.
“Any centre that becomes unviewable during examinations will be immediately delisted,” the Board warns.
The policy is part of broader efforts to strengthen transparency and curb examination malpractice through continuous nationwide monitoring.
Candidates are also urged to comply with examination rules and maintain integrity, as JAMB intensifies oversight measures.
Education analysts say the move signals stricter enforcement of digital monitoring systems to protect the credibility of Nigeria’s examination process.
