LAGOS, Nigeria – The LASTMA Complaint Centre has officially opened at the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority headquarters in Oshodi, providing residents with a dedicated physical platform to submit complaints, seek clarification and offer feedback on traffic management and the conduct of agency personnel.
The initiative forms part of the agency’s efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability and public confidence in traffic management across Lagos State.
LASTMA said the new facility complements its existing digital reporting platforms by providing an alternative channel for residents who prefer face-to-face engagement.
General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki said every complaint received through the centre would be investigated in line with established administrative procedures while ensuring fairness and due process.
According to him, the agency remains committed to improving service delivery by encouraging direct interaction with members of the public.
The complaint centre will operate alongside LASTMA’s 3367 toll-free call centre, which has become a major platform for communication between the agency and Lagos residents.
Agency figures show that between June 28 and July 29, the hotline recorded 2,843 public engagements, including enquiries, commendations, accident reports, vehicle breakdown notifications, formal complaints and requests for information.
LASTMA said it successfully resolved 468 cases during the reporting period, demonstrating its commitment to responding promptly to public concerns.
Bakare-Oki reaffirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption, extortion, abuse of office and professional misconduct.
He warned that any officer found culpable after investigation would face disciplinary action in accordance with applicable public service regulations.
The General Manager encouraged residents to utilise both the physical complaint centre and existing digital platforms to report traffic-related concerns and contribute to improving road management across Lagos.
