ABUJA, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms are designed to deliver long-term sustainable growth rather than short-term political gains, Minister of Education Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa has said, expressing confidence that the administration’s policies are already yielding measurable results.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Ikharo Attah, Alausa said the government’s reforms are laying the foundation for lasting economic transformation under the Renewed Hope Agenda. He cited easing inflation, expanding economic activity and favourable assessments by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, Bloomberg and Nigeria’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) as indicators of progress.
According to the minister, the administration’s emphasis on fiscal discipline, structural reforms and human capital development is positioning the economy for inclusive and sustainable growth that will outlast the current government. He maintained that the reforms are focused on improving productivity, creating opportunities and enhancing the welfare of Nigerians.
Alausa also expressed confidence that the government’s performance would shape public perception ahead of the 2027 presidential election, saying Nigerians would ultimately judge the administration based on the impact of its policies rather than political rhetoric.
