ABUJA, Nigeria — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirms that its ongoing nationwide recruitment exercise is genuine and urges qualified Nigerians to submit applications before the July 27, 2026, deadline.
The confirmation comes amid growing public interest in the recruitment exercise and concerns over fraudulent job advertisements circulating online.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Tuesday, an official at the INEC Municipal Area Office in Abuja, Danjuma Daniel, says the recruitment is open to eligible Nigerians across the country for a one-week application period.
“The recruitment is genuine and nationwide, and it is only for a week from July 20 to July 27, 2026. Qualified people with the necessary qualifications and credentials can register,” Daniel says.
According to him, the Commission is recruiting qualified candidates into various entry-level positions through its online recruitment portal.
Daniel says applicants must meet the prescribed qualifications and upload all required credentials during registration to be considered.
He advises prospective applicants to follow the application guidelines carefully and avoid providing false information or submitting multiple applications, warning that only eligible candidates will progress to the next stage of the process.
“The application is free. Applicants should submit only one application and provide accurate information because only qualified and shortlisted candidates will proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process,” he says.
INEC also reiterates that the recruitment exercise is free of charge and cautions applicants against paying money to individuals or groups claiming to facilitate employment into the Commission.
The electoral body encourages qualified Nigerians to complete their applications before the recruitment portal closes on July 27.
