ADO-EKITI, Nigeria – Ekiti basic education receives a leadership boost after Governor Biodun Oyebanji approved a consolidated salary structure and official vehicles for the state’s three headmasters-general.
The approval, announced on Friday by the Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Femi Akinwumi, is aimed at strengthening school supervision, improving administrative leadership and enhancing service delivery in public primary schools.
The beneficiaries are Monisola Oguntamore, Isaac Ogunleye and Bola Omotoso, who were appointed in June 2025.
Akinwumi said the governor recognises the critical role of headmasters-general in improving teaching quality, monitoring schools and strengthening accountability within the state’s basic education system.
“The consolidated salary structure and official vehicles will enhance mobility, improve monitoring of schools, boost morale and attract competent hands to leadership positions in the basic education sub-sector,” he said
“Our headmasters-general are the engine room of basic education administration. By equipping them properly and rewarding their office, we are investing in better supervision, accountability and improved outcomes for our children,” Akinwumi said.
