ABUJA, Nigeria – The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that Nigerian troops arrested over 450 terrorists, rescued 180 kidnap victims, and recovered weapons during September operations across multiple theatres nationwide.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, said on Saturday that the operations spanned joint task forces such as Hadin Kai, Fansan Yamma, Enduring Peace, Whirl Stroke, Delta Safe, and Udo Ka.
“Our primary goals are to disrupt enemy networks and secure key terrains,” Kangye said. “Significant progress has been made, and operations are ongoing to maintain stability.”
Troops recovered 63 arms, 4,475 rounds of ammunition, and 294 equipment, including grenades, IED materials, and motorcycles.
In the South-South, Operation Delta Safe intercepted ₦112 million worth of illegal oil operations, while Hadin Kai troops in the North-East continued to weaken Boko Haram and ISWAP.
In the North-West and North-Central, troops neutralised threats under Fansan Yamma, Enduring Peace, and Whirl Stroke, while Udo Ka forces in the South-East sustained attacks on criminal hideouts.
The DHQ reaffirmed its commitment to peace, saying, “The Armed Forces remain resolute in dismantling criminal networks and restoring normalcy nationwide.”
