ABUJA, Nigeria – First Lady Oluremi Tinubu condemns alleged sexual assaults during the Alue-Do festival in Ozoro, Delta State, declaring that no cultural practice justifies violence against women.
Reacting to viral videos showing abuse of girls on Sunday, Mrs. Tinubu states: “No tradition or custom grants any man the right to violate the dignity or freedom of any woman or girl.”
The incidents, which spark national outrage, reportedly occur during the festival in Isoko North Local Government Area. Authorities, including the Nigeria Police Force, arrest several suspects as investigations continue.
