KANO, Nigeria – Swipha Pharma Nigeria Limited has donated anti-malaria medicines worth N500,000 to the Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency in a move aimed at strengthening access to essential medicines and supporting healthcare delivery across Kano State.
The donation was announced on Thursday following a courtesy visit by representatives of the pharmaceutical company to the agency’s headquarters in Kano, where officials said the medicines would bolster efforts to combat malaria and improve healthcare outcomes.
Receiving the donation, Director-General of DMCSA, Gali Sule, described the gesture as a demonstration of Swipha Pharma’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services in the state.
According to Sule, the anti-malaria medicines will reinforce the agency’s stock of essential drugs and enhance its capacity to meet the healthcare needs of residents across Kano’s 44 local government areas.
“The donated drugs will strengthen our stock of essential medicines and improve our ability to respond to the healthcare needs of citizens,” he said.
Sule assured the company that the medicines would be used transparently and efficiently for the benefit of residents, while reaffirming the agency’s commitment to ensuring the availability of quality, affordable and accessible medicines.
He also highlighted ongoing healthcare reforms under the administration of Abba Kabir Yusuf, aimed at improving access to quality healthcare services and strengthening the state’s health system.
Earlier, Business Development Executive at Swipha Pharma, Esther John, said the donation formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme.
She explained that the intervention was designed to support the agency’s transformation agenda and consolidate gains recorded since the revitalisation of DMCSA.
John also said the donation reflected the company’s appreciation for the agency’s efforts in settling outstanding obligations and maintaining a transparent and productive business relationship.
