LAGOS, Nigeria – Sunbeth Energies Limited has launched Nigeria’s first self-service fuel station, introducing a digital fuelling system that allows motorists to dispense fuel themselves, monitor the exact quantity purchased and complete secure electronic payments.
The self-service station, unveiled on Monday at the company’s Ogba outlet in Lagos, was developed in partnership with Tech Brokers Limited to improve transparency, convenience and consumer confidence in fuel purchases.
Speaking at the launch, Sunbeth Energies Managing Director, Lateef Abioye, described the initiative as a new benchmark for the industry. “By launching Nigeria’s first self-service fuel station, we are introducing a new standard of transparency, convenience and customer empowerment. Every customer deserves to know exactly what they are paying for,” he said.
Chief Executive Officer of Tech Brokers Limited, Wasiu Popoola, described the innovation as “the beginning of a new dawn for fuel retailing in Nigeria”, saying the platform was designed to support future technological advancements in the downstream industry.
One of the first customers to use the system described the experience as “easy to use, fast and transparent”, while Sunbeth said trained customer support personnel would remain on-site to assist motorists as they transition to the self-service model.
