PSC Chairman, Hashimu Argungu during plenary session in Abuja
ABUJA, Nigeria – The Police Service Commission (PSC) has resolved to expedite all pending police disciplinary cases and appeals to promote fairness and transparency within the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement sent to AHR on Sunday by PSC spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the decision was taken during its plenary session in Abuja, the PSC deliberated on 24 appeals and one pending disciplinary case, concluding them all.
Among key rulings, the Commission dismissed petitions against Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Bzigu Yakubu Kwazhi Dali, describing allegations of falsified service records as “frivolous and baseless.” It also nullified an unauthorised warning letter and reversed the alteration of his date of birth.
The commission also reinstated ACP Grace Obiageli Ejiofor, earlier compulsorily retired after the Old Netim Division incident in Cross River State, directing that she be restored to her rightful rank and position.
Other officers reinstated include ACP Muhammad Awwal Yunusa, CSP Allwell Okwuonu, SP Clement Awoyemi, and ASPs Bamiselu Oluwaseun, Ahmed Monday, and Imoohi Doora.
PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), said all disciplinary cases would now be handled swiftly. “Those found guilty will face sanctions, while cleared officers will progress without obstruction,” he affirmed.
At its 2nd Plenary Meeting, the PSC also approved promotions, including one new Deputy Inspector General, a Commissioner of Police to AIG, and several other officers across ranks.
