ONDO, Nigeria – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ondo State records 2,550 complaints between January and December 2025, resolving 345 cases through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
The State Commandant, Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye, disclosed this on Wednesday during a media briefing in Akure reviewing the command’s 2025 operations.
Ibiloye says reported cases range from transformer vandalism, cybercrime and illegal mining to human trafficking, farmland destruction by herders, theft and unlawful gas retail.
According to him, the Anti-Human Trafficking, Irregular Migration and Gender Unit handles 101 cases, while the investigation department manages 498 cases, leading to the arrest of 551 suspects. “Thirty-one cases are currently pending before the courts,” he states.
The commandant adds that counterterrorism and anti-graft units address 410 cases, resulting in 164 arrests, including 68 females.
He notes that Grievance Management Centres increase from 25 to 45 across the state, handling 365 complaints, with 345 successfully settled through mediation.
Ibiloye attributes the decline from 2,900 cases in 2024 to increased public awareness and improved inter-agency collaboration.
He assures residents that the command will build on the gains recorded in 2026, revealing that 95 personnel have undergone specialised training in combat and tactical operations.
The NSCDC female squad, working with the Safe School Unit, also conducts vulnerability assessments in 1,601 schools statewide.
