OGUN, Nigeria – The Ogun State Police Command arrests a 25-year-old suspect over the alleged killing of two people and injury of three others in Ifo Local Government Area.
Police say the attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday in the Olambe community following a failed business transaction that escalated into violence.
Spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi confirms that five victims were stabbed during the incident. “Two victims died while being taken to hospital, while three others are in critical condition but responding to treatment,” he says.
The deceased are identified as Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40. The injured victims are receiving medical care.
Authorities say the suspect initially flees but is later apprehended by detectives. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni condemns the attack and assures residents that justice will be served.
He urges the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, stressing the importance of community cooperation in preventing violent crime.
Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
