KOGI, Nigeria – The National Universities Commission grants full accreditation to 27 programmes at Prince Abubakar Audu University, strengthening its academic reputation.
The approval follows the 2025 nationwide accreditation exercise, marking a significant milestone for the institution.
“The development… represents a significant academic milestone,” says university spokesperson Omale Uredo.
The accreditation covers five postgraduate and 22 undergraduate programmes across key disciplines, including sciences, law, management and humanities.
Courses such as Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Law, Nursing and Economics meet required standards, while Christian Religious Studies receives interim approval.
The NUC report confirms compliance with academic benchmarks, reinforcing confidence in the university’s teaching and research capacity.
Uredo attributes the achievement to sustained investment and institutional commitment to quality assurance.
“The outcome reflects steady growth and commitment to excellence,” she says.
She also credits support from the Kogi State Government and the leadership of former Vice-Chancellor Marietu Tenuche for driving the process.
The university says it will focus on improving programmes with interim status while maintaining standards across accredited courses.
